Chicago Bulls @ Atlanta Hawks | Mar 25 1995: Jordan's Comeback - Buzzer Beater

Michael Jordan's 16-footer at the buzzer capped a 32-point performance that carried the Chicago Bulls to a 99-98 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at the Omni which was sold out for the first time in the 94/95 season. Jordan 14-for-26 from the field seemed to be regaining the shooting touch that became rusty during his 19 months away. Still not in peak condition he got 18 of his 32 points in the third quarter matching Atlanta's total for the period. With 20 seconds remaining in the game the Hawks held onto a one-point lead. Smith tried to seal the win but Jordan came over and forced him into an airball. Atlanta maintained possession but had to shoot to prevent a shot clock violation. Andrew Lang's missed jumpshot was collected by Jordan who called a timeout with 5.9 seconds to go. It was the first time Jordan had the opportunity to shoot with the game on the line since coming out of retirement. The victory gave the Bulls a 2-2 record since his return.

frusionnn 5:22 enough said, ''all that is missing from this picture is Craig Ehlo'' LMAO sad! 02/17/2010 - 16:32:52
chozinwun816 if u read my post i said the late 90's. i meant after mj left. and ur right, lebron, wade, dwight and others have brought back the "show" to the nba. i don't think that is a bad thing. that's what magic and bird did in the early 80's. 02/03/2010 - 20:54:38
Loomes23 @chozinwun816: WTF?!? and todays is watchable? LOL.. There will never be at better decade than the 90's... todays its all about show. 02/02/2010 - 18:19:22
LakersDynasty42 What icons does the NBA have now that trump the 1's we had in the 90's? The only superstars considered icons that weren't superstars in the 90's are Kobe and LeBron. 12/09/2009 - 13:23:36
LakersDynasty42 I love how he hit the gamewinner and left the court as soon as he could. 12/09/2009 - 13:22:07
chozinwun816 Here are some allstars from the 90's that didn't do it for me, (off the top of my head) Larry Johnson, Steve Smith, Glen Rice, Glenn Robinson, Vin Baker, Mitch Richmond, Brad Daugherty, Derrick Coleman, Kenny Anderson, Nick VanExel. (all i can think of for now), they just weren't exciting and compelling to me. I'll put it this way, the mid to late 90's and early 2000's were severly lacking the supestar power we have today. they had stars and good players but few icons 12/08/2009 - 05:30:13
chozinwun816 well, I think what the die hard fan like myself and a casual were both able to see that during the 90's as a whole, I'm not talking about the greats that u mentioned but as a whole, there seemed to be a diminishing of skill, talent, and just basic fundamentals. it was just less entertaining also. the lock-out didn't help. you have to admit, the 99 finals with the knics and spurs was pretty bad. if mike hadn't come back, we would have had a lot of "jazz vs pacers" finals w scores in the 70's 12/08/2009 - 05:15:07
Nicktimus I know what you're saying, but is drawing the casual fan really a good measure of whether great ball was being played? You seem like you know your stuff, and thus aren't just the casual fan, so why was it unwatchable for *you*? 12/08/2009 - 03:02:28
