Atlanta Hawks @ Chicago Bulls | Dec 27 1997: Jordan with 47 points

Michael Jordan had another outstanding performance as host Chicago defeated Atlanta 97-90 to take over the lead in the Eastern Conference. Jordan scored 47 points and shot 69% (18-for-26 from the field) while the rest of the team still without Scottie Pippen combined for 50 points and 32% (19-for-59). The Hawks tried numerous defensive schemes but Jordan at times made it look so easy that it seemed like he was playing a different game in a distinct space. Atlanta was at his mercy. "The Worm" continued his superb play from the last weeks when he collected 29 rebounds the most in his two and a half seasons with the Bulls. He also hit a couple of tough shots that got the crowd fired up. Chicago has won seven consecutive games and defeated three division leaders (Atlanta Miami and the Los Angeles Lakers) in a 10-day span. It was Phil Jackson's 500th win as the head coach of the Bulls.

jayprice84 kOrOne79 I'm 5 11 and I am able to reverse 180 dunks. Truthfully, anyone can do it, just workout the right way. I recommend the workout program at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | but any workout could be followed if you can check they work Atlanta Hawks @ Chicago Bulls | Dec 27, 1997: Jordan with 47 points 04/12/2010 - 03:31:22
Amir883 The only person the fans have ever really appreciated that was truly blue collar was Bill Russell. But he had to win 11 titles in 13 years vs Wilt Chamberlain (at the time considered Hercules on the basketball court) as the undisputed leader of the Celtics. Rodman deserves to be in the hall of fame. 11/15/2009 - 07:15:04
airswade I remember this game, it was on my Birthday! 07/28/2009 - 02:22:08

btc1988 as impressive as jordan's game was, how bout rodman? 29 rebounds! nobody does that now 11/13/2008 - 19:49:37
mnkhan2020 definitely. The reason why he is not mentioned among the "great" catagory is he wasn't Kobe, a pure scorer. Fans, critics, everyone likes scorers & flashy players. I mean who'll call a true blue collar player a great one. Even after winning 5 rings with 2 different teams. 09/20/2008 - 04:50:55
Cwm368 Dennis Rodman was a great player.... 09/18/2008 - 19:37:57
